The Board of Directors for Friends of Fox Creek met on Saturday, March 13, and selected its officers for the coming year. Bob Burnham was elected President and Dearl Taylor was elected Vice President. Chip Bubl was re-elected Secretary and Bill Vilardi was re-elected Treasurer.
According to FFC’s Bylaws, the general membership elects the directors at the Annual Meeting in February; the Board of Directors then meets and elects its officers for the year.
Other business at the meeting focused on plans for the April 24th trail project.
Members and guests of Friends of Fox Creek attended FFC’s Annual Meeting & Banquet on February 20th at Rainier’s Old Hall and elected three directors to the FFC board.
Elected were John Byrd and Bill Vilardi of Rainier and Amy Poulos of Longview. Amy, new to the board, is a teacher in the Head Start program in Rainier.
Featured at the banquet were Shay Benson, Rainier’s legendary caterer, who came out of retirement to provide the feast, and Mike Houck of Urban Greenspaces Institute at Portland State University, who spoke on “Connecting People to Nature through Parks, Trails and Natural Areas.”
Thirty-three people attended the event.
Continuing members of the board who were not up for election this year are Chip Bubl, Darrel Whipple, Dearl Taylor and Bob Burnham.
